The cool thing about this radio is it has the aircraft band plus 2m ham band built in! It's also extremely rugged, waterproof and a metal housing. However the built in mic does not work very well, and the optional headset adapter also does not work that well. I guess maybe that's why it's discontinued :-) Nevertheless I have used it quite a bit flying gliders and it works well enough.
